I would like to extend a personal invitation to your club from ours to join us for the 30th Annual Santa Cruz Longboard Union Memorial Day Club Invitational, May 24-25, 2014, at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz.
Come join us as we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Memorial Day Invitational, along with the 100-year celebration of the Santa Cruz Wharf, where we will hold our Saturday night contest dinner and dance party!
Proceeds from the 30th Annual Contest will benefit Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services, Ride-a-Wave Foundation, a nonprofit organization that enables children and adults with special needs the chance to feel the thrill of riding a wave.
Registration for the contest is available online starting April 4th, 2014 at: http://netsportmgt.com and will close May 3rd at midnight. See page 4 for a list of age divisions and registration information.
Campsites at Oblates of St. Joseph Church are available again this year! In order to manage the campsites, we will initially limit each club to 3 spaces. Requests for additional space will be placed on a waiting list. After Friday, May 9th, we will offer any remaining spaces to those on the waiting list. All camping registration will be handled by Steve Davenport and Scott Bradley. Steve and Scott can be reached at: sldaven@ucsc.edu and scottwbradley@gmail.com. Steve and Scott will have final say in all camping matters!
As President, I want to add the note that we will be VERY aggressive about keeping these campsites in order. Please give your respect to the church and neighboring school when camping here. This is a huge privilege and something we don’t take for granted! So this is it, come on up, enjoy some cold water and hopefully some big waves.
