Scotty Carter is a 20 year water photographer with an undying passion for waves. Beginning his journey as a wave rider, Scotty developed an ;interest in cinematography that would lead to 5 movies including the acclaimed film "Fire" that won the Cinema Paradise Award in Hawaii.
As time went by, he was pulled by the beauty of the empty waves all around him. Under the influence of his father Bob and local water photographers like the late Larry "Flame" Moore, Scotty was inspired to shit his focus to water photography. A chance discovery of a special wave along the Southern California Coast blessed Scotty with a distinctive look to his photography that attracted galleries, hotels and magazines. His contemporary art photography is currently featured at the Atlantis Palm Hotel in Dubai and is showcased in several fine art galleries such as McKibben Studios in Laguna Beach, California.
He has a great eye that has enabled him to produce great work that accomplishes his goal of portraying the raw beauty of waves in a celebration of water, light and energy. Over the years and countless hours spent in the ocean as a wave rider, cinematographer and water photographer, his current photography is a new chapter for Scotty in the artistic expression of his love of waves that holds a great deal of promise.
