    • Just north of Ensenada is a cobblestone right point break that many consider northern Baja's best wave. Deep offshore canyons funnel west and northwest swells across the point, creating playful rights at modest size and forceful beasts as the swell increases. Watch out for the wicked purple sea'nenomies - you must wear booties or even tennis shoes, or you will pay.

The break has been considered a "must go" destination for decades, and it shows. With even the slightest hint of swell the lineup is packed before dawn, and considering it holds form at almost any size and blows out by 11am like clockwork, getting a wave here all to yourself can be a difficult but rewarding challenge.

San Miguel is one of those spots that everyone should hit a least once in their lifetimes, just to say "I surfed there!".
